Grand Prairie Municipal Airport (KGPM) is a towered general-aviation airport in the heart of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Its Runway 17/35 measures approximately 4,001 × 75 feet. The City of Grand Prairie lists Spartan Flight Academy as the airport's fixed-base operator, with a self-service fuel island providing Jet-A and 100LL.
KGPM's 4,001-foot runway is shorter than the runway length Air Direct ordinarily plans around for Citation Excel N560AD. As a result, we would not treat KGPM as an automatic operating airport for the Excel. For Grand Prairie itineraries, we evaluate the mission and can use a nearby business-aviation airport—such as Dallas Executive (KRBD), Mid-Way Regional (KJWY), Arlington Municipal, or another suitable field—when KGPM is not appropriate.
Grand Prairie sits between Dallas and Fort Worth with direct access to I-20, I-30, SH 360, and the President George Bush Turnpike. A nearby-airport strategy can still provide the time savings and direct routing of private charter while keeping the operation within the Citation Excel's performance requirements.
Air Direct is an FAA Part 135 on-demand air carrier based at Cox Field (KPRX) in Paris, Texas. We own and operate Citation Excel N560AD with professional two-pilot crews and complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi. When you charter with Air Direct, you work directly with the company operating your flight.
Airport suitability for any particular trip depends on aircraft weight, weather, runway condition, elevation, obstacles, required fuel reserves, and other operational considerations. Availability is confirmed for the actual itinerary before a flight is accepted.
