University of Oklahoma Max Westheimer Airport (KOUN) is a towered reliever airport serving Norman and the south Oklahoma City metro. The longer Runway 18/36 measures approximately 5,199 × 100 feet and has ILS capability. The airport is owned and operated by the University of Oklahoma and supports business aviation, university travel, training, and general aviation.
Cruise Aviation has served the general-aviation community at Max Westheimer since 1989. The FBO offers Jet-A and 100LL, a passenger terminal, pilot lounge, flight planning, Wi-Fi, concierge and catering support, GPU service, quick turns, and after-hours service by arrangement.
KOUN is the closest practical business-aviation airport for the University of Oklahoma, Norman, and much of the south Oklahoma City metro. During OU home-football periods the airport may implement Prior Permission Required procedures for transient aircraft, so event-day operations should be coordinated well in advance.
